About Me!

Hi Everyone,

For those of you who don't know me, I have a very special superpower. I am autistic, but this doesn't stop me having fun as you can see.

This is a blog to remind me of all my fun adventures.

I hope you enjoy looking at it.

Swim Training Camp/Exploring Sheffield And Loughborough Swimming Update - 29th-31st October 2019 & 4th January 2020.

I went on a three day swimming camp based in Sheffield with my Para Swimming Club.

On the first morning we travelled up to join the other 5 swimmers from my club and had a morning training session at Springs Leisure Centre in Sheffield.

After Swimming some of us went to Meadow Hall shopping Centre.

I was very hungry after all that swimming and had a big burger for lunch.

My half term holiday treat.  I made Pokemon Pichu at Build a Bear.

This is where we are all staying the OYO Metropolitan hotel.

It is just a 5 minute walk up the road from Ponds Forge International Sports Centre.

Here's the view out of our hotel window looking to the left.

The view out our hotel room window looking to the right.

Time for an explore.

The road is all dug up at the moment it will be nice when its finished.

There are trams everywhere.

Before day two's  training I was very lucky to visit here - The National Videogame Museum.

Sonic the Hedgehog.

A complete history of video games consoles.

Every console you can think of is here.

Look at all these different joy sticks and controllers.

 All the handheld games.

The start of disc drives.

Do you recognise any of them?

Time to try out some of these old consoles and games.

Guitar Hero.

A Pokemon game on an old DS.

A complete wall of Donkey Kong and the evolution of the game.

These old versions are really hard.

Super Mario Bros.

Super Mario 64.

Classic Sonic The Hedgehog.

Space Invaders next.

A little bit boring.

My favourite Pac-Man.

Track and Field.

More Donkey Kong.

Mario Paint.

I painted a Pikachu!

A BBC Micro.

Forza Horizon 4 with a special controller.

Time for a dance.

New Super Mario Bros U.

Stopping the lights at the correct time.

I've had a great time at this museum and hope to visit again.

Exploring more of Sheffield.

Winter Gardens -  is one of the largest hot glasshouses in the UK and home to over 2,000 plants from around the world.

There are lots of different sculptures and art work inside the glass house too.

I liked looking at all the different plants and it was nice and warm in here.  Although I didn't like the smell very much!

I liked this Panda.

Can you see the famous Crucible Theatre behind me where they have the World Snooker Championships yearly.

Who dares me to run through the fountain?

That's as close as I can get without getting too wet.

I like the way the water flows down the steps.

Sheffield Legends
is a Walk of Fame located outside Sheffield Town Hall honouring famous people from or connected to Sheffield.

This one is for Sebastian Coe.

Footballer - Gordon Banks.

Olympic Athlete - Jessica Ennis-Hill.

Springs Leisure Centre.

Time for some more hard work and training.

A bit of a rest in our room.

It's a little bit messy.

Pizza my favourite!

Breakfast at the hotel before some more training.

The view out the window whilst I eat my breakfast.

My first swim at Ponds Forge.

I'm really excited.

Lets go training.

Wow-this place is amazing.

One day I hope my name will be up on that score board.

I'm ready.

I've been told the water is normally very cold.

We trained for about two hours.

I was very tired by the end of the session.

It was great!

I have really enjoyed my trip to Sheffield and cannot wait to come back again soon.

Loughborough University - Para Training session and Swim England Winter Para Competition - 4th January 2020.

Today I completed 2 hours of  training in the pool and one hour of land training in the gym before competing in the gala where I swam in 5 races.

Can you see my name on the score board?  I came first in this my first event 100m Freestyle.

Ready for my next race.

I competed in the 100m Freestyle, 50m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke, 50m Breaststroke and 50m Butterfly.

I was very successful in gaining 4 new personal best times. Which is very good after 2 hours of training beforehand.
